finest players.
Do you have the game to make it
here?
The Pepsi Tour is owned and operated by All Golfers
Tour Association, a California corporation founded in 1994 to organize, promote
and conduct golf tournaments at the finest country clubs, resorts and public
courses on the West Coast. Last year the Tour and its affiliated Pepsi Twilight
Tour hosted a total of 212 tournaments in three states and awarded over
$1,000,000 in prize money and amateur winnings.
The Tour has two separate
divisions. Its Open Division is for professional and the very best amateur
golfers who play in low gross competitions. Its Indexed Division is for
non-amateur and amateur players of all skill levels who play in
handicapped net competitions.
The Pepsi Tour operates a
complimentary developmental tour in Southern California. It's called the Pepsi
Twilight Tour and it holds smaller low-cost tournaments on
weekdays.
The Open Division of the Pepsi Tour features the West Coast's
rising stars in the professional golf world. Most of its players have competed
on college teams, some have participated in PGA Tour, Champions Tour and LPGA
Tour events, and many have played on the Nationwide Tour, on foreign tours and
on various developmental tours across the country.
In 2010 the Open
Division is scheduled to hold more than 110 tournaments in California, Arizona
and Nevada. The guaranteed first place prize money with a minimum of
eight players is $800 to $1,200 at the one-day events, $1,600 to $2,500 at the
two-day events, and $2,000 to $5,000 at the three-day events. The purse at each
tournament depends on sponsors and the number of players, but one-third of the
field wins prize money at each event.
Membership in the Pepsi Tour is NOT
required to enter and compete in tournaments of the Open Division. However,
prize money will be paid out only to members of the Tour. The cost of annual
Open Division membership (12 month period) is $195. If a non-member wins
prize money and is not competing as an amateur, he or she can: (a) use a portion
of the winnings to pay the $195 annual membership fee and receive a check for
the balance; or (b) leave the entire prize money on the books and use it
for future tournament entry fees. The cost of annual membership (12 month
period) for amateur flight players is $95.
Entry fees at one-day
tournaments in the Open Division range from $200 to $290 including golf, cart
and range balls. The entry fees at multi-day events range from $400 to
$660.
The Pepsi Tour will hold separate flight competitions for seniors
and women at each Open Division tournament if eight or more seniors (47 years
and older) and/or women are registered by the tournament entry deadline. In
these Open Division flight competitions seniors and women can develop their
game, win money or amateur prizes, and prepare for the Champions Tour and LPGA
Tour qualifying schools. The guaranteed first place prize money at one-day
flight competitions is $800. Although payouts vary based on the number of
participants, one-third of the flight wins prize money at each
tournament.
Scratch amateur players can compete in two ways on the
Pepsi Tour. First, they can compete directly against professional golfers in the
Open Division. They pay the same entry fees and compete for the same
potential prize winnings, but all amateur prizes are in the form of non-cash
prize vouchers that comply with USGA guidelines and Pepsi Tour policy.
Second, amateur scratch players can also compete in amateur flight competitions
with much lower entry fees and lower non-cash prize
winnings.
The Pepsi Tour will hold a separate amateur flight
competition at each Open Division tournament if four or more amateur flight
players are registered by the tournament entry deadline. Non-cash prize
vouchers will be awarded to 1/3 of the field accoding to payout charts
based on $50 per player in 18-hole competitions and $100 per player in 36-hole
competitions. If there are less than four entries, amateur flight players
will indirectly compete against professional players in a combined
field and can win non-cash prize vouchers.
The Pepsi
Tour also holds 18-hole mid-week tournaments at fixed locations
in Northern and Southern California. It conducts these low-cost events
under the name "Pepsi Twilight Tour". There are no membership requirements
in the Pepsi Twilight Tour.
